You’re never too old to…

You are never too old to…

Go ahead, I dare you to fill in the rest of that sentence!

How well I remember when I was a little girl, that my Mother would say things to me, like, “act your age!”  What does that really mean?  Did that mean she wanted me to act more mature, more childlike, more whatever?  Guess I’ll never know for certain, but I am pretty sure it was more along the lines of stop with the shenanigans!

Age – is it really important?  It is when you long for a driver’s license, wait to reach voting age, and even yearn for retirement.  Other than that, I do not believe age is really important.  To me…age is just a number on a document.

Today is the day I can proudly say, “You’re never too old to start a website!”  On this day, I turn 65 years old and begin a new method of social networking.  I have been encouraged by many friends and family members to share by way of a website and/or blog.  So, here’s a salute to those who have been my biggest cheerleaders!

Nearly seven years ago, while playing on the internet, I learned the URL of candymartin.com was available.  So, I snagged it!  I have been paying for the rights to my own .com since then, dreaming about the day when I actually launch the website.  Our daughter Sarah has had her own website for several years and has actually suggested encouraged shamed nagged me into stepping out of my comfort zone.  I met Bethany (the daughter of a dear friend) one cold wintery evening in San Antonio.  I loved her spirit and her creative side.  I hired Bethany to make magic out of my meandering thoughts and ideas.

So, to finish my own sentence…I am never too old to start blogging and maintain a website.  For me, 65 is just a number.  So come on along and follow my passions and me.

Grab a fork…the best is yet to come!
