The Candy Shoppe

Behind The Candy Shoppe...

I have always had a passion for anything related to fabric, thread, and creativity! I inherited my passion from my Mother, who inherited it from her Mother. So…it’s in my genes.

After nearly a year of deployment to Iraq, our Tom was thinking about redeployment and home. He sent me an email with a random thought as to what he thought I should do after retirement.  I think he knew me well!  It was six years later and I had the hankering to turn one of my passions into a wee bit more than a hobby!  So, I created a business, bought the necessary equipment and set up shop! I agonized over what to name my business for a few days, when I remembered the email Tom sent me several years prior. Read on and learn how The Candy Shoppe, LLC was born!

The Email From Tom...

Subject: just an idea

I was thinking the other day and came up with a most excellent idea for you.

When you finally do decide to get out of the Army you should open a sewing store there in San Antonio or wherever y’all end up and call it The Candy Shoppe.

I think it’d be fantastic.  You could sew all day long and help other people sew all day long and make money doing it! I won’t even charge you for the name idea.  🙂

Hope everything’s going well.

Love you,
Tom
